Optimising advanced district heating systems

As district heating systems across Europe continue to evolve, the focus is increasingly shifting towards optimisation, scaling, and next-generation system integration.
This webinar explores how to enhance the performance of renewable-based district heating networks through advanced modelling, improved sector coupling, and strategic investment planning. It is open to all stakeholders, and particularly relevant for those working with more mature systems, such as those found in Switzerland or similar contexts.
Participants will gain practical insights into:
- Optimising renewable district heating through Power-to-Heat integration
- Applying advanced modelling tools such as energyPRO to support investment and operational decisions
- Introduction to a new tool assessing the techno-economic potential of waste heat integration
The session features experiences from frontrunner cases in the SupportDHC project, including work with Stadtwerke Kapfenberg, that showcase how transformation plans are developed and aligned with technical implementation.
This webinar is part of a broader series addressing different stages of district heating development across Europe. For more information, visit www.supportdhc.eu
